Definition of Shadow Export
The Shadow Export feature is designed for businesses involved in memo transactions.
In such cases, a stone or parcel is presented to a customer, but the sale is not finalized. In certain scenarios, the seller may prefer not to disclose the potential buyer's location on the report. This precaution becomes relevant if the stone or parcel is returned, and the seller intends to offer it to another buyer.
Here's a specific scenario:
Let's consider a polished dealer in Antwerp who wishes to send a stone on memo to a retailer in Paris. To enable the Paris retailer to access all traceability information on the stone without revealing the location of the potential buyer, the Antwerp dealer utilizes the Shadow Export option. Consequently, when the Paris retailer imports the stone, France is intentionally omitted as a location step on the report.
If the Paris retailer decides not to purchase the stone and returns it to the Antwerp dealer, the dealer can then choose to send it to a retailer in Rome. By utilizing the Shadow Export feature, the Antwerp dealer ensures that only Belgium and all the steps preceding it will be displayed on the report, with France intentionally excluded from the traceability information. This flexibility provides sellers with greater control over the information presented on reports, optimizing their ability to manage memo transactions effectively.
